About The Position

Diversicare is hiring a Treatment Nurse to provide nursing care to residents in its post-acute care and skilled nursing environment. The role administers prescribed medications, provides physician-ordered treatments, monitors resident responses, and documents care in accordance with policy. The nurse also educates residents and families, helps direct and instruct C.N.T.’s, and supports safe, infection-controlled work practices.

Requirements

Current license from a State Board of Nursing as an R.N. or L.P.N.
Ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
Ability to perform varied duties amid frequent changes, as the work schedule changes daily.
Ability to work intimately with residents, physicians, and staff.
Ability to work to prescribed nursing standards.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Interest in performing a service.

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed medications orally and by injection.
Provide treatments to residents according to physician orders.
Observe residents’ reactions to medications and treatments.
Ensure proper handling and storage of medications and controlled substances.
Observe, record, and report services provided.
Report changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor and attending physician.
Sign off that medications and treatments were administered or provided, as required by policy.
Maintain residents’ medical records through documentation as required by policy.
Educate residents and families regarding care.
Assist in planning, supervising, and instructing C.N.T.’s, and assign daily work to support positive resident outcomes.
Implement and maintain policies and procedures.
Ensure safe work practices and proper infection control techniques are utilized.
