About The Position

The Treasury Manager – Capital Markets will lead core capital markets workstreams and own Qualcomm’s investment portfolio strategy, partnering with senior Treasury leadership on financing, derivatives, liquidity, market intelligence, and executive-level decision support. The role requires strong judgment, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to translate complex market and financial analysis into practical recommendations. This manager-level role is expected to manage complex projects, influence senior stakeholders, and coach analysts or rotational employees supporting Treasury priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Corporate Treasury, Investments, Capital Markets, Banking, Asset Management, or Corporate Finance, with ownership of investments and exposure to debt capital markets, derivatives, liquidity planning, and executive-level analysis.
  • Advanced financial modeling, market data interpretation, portfolio analytics, scenario analysis, and recommendation development skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to senior and non-technical audiences and make persuasive recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI, workflow automation, analytics, and data platforms (e.g., agents, Copilot, n8n, Databricks, dashboarding solutions) to improve Treasury efficiency, controls, reporting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects, navigate ambiguity, and deliver under time-sensitive Treasury deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA or MS Finance) or professional certification (CTP, CFA).
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Treasury, Investments, Capital Markets, Banking, Asset Management, or Corporate Finance.
  • Experience supporting Treasury Operations and corporate insurance programs, including cash management, bank account administration, insurance renewals, broker and carrier relationships, risk assessments, claims coordination, and related compliance and reporting activities.
  • Experience with Kyriba, FXall, Bloomberg, Clearwater, bank portals, etc.
  • Working knowledge of hedge accounting, ASC 815, investment accounting, and fair value concepts.
  • Experience leading public company debt issuance, investment portfolio operations, rating agency analysis, commercial paper issuance, revolving credit facilities, or large-scale financing workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage execution, documentation, controls, reporting, and post-trade oversight for FX and interest rate derivatives.
  • Analyze FX, rates, liquidity, and portfolio risks; quantify sensitivities and recommend actions for leadership consideration.
  • Partner with Accounting on hedge documentation, effectiveness analysis, quarter-end close support, and issue resolution.
  • Provide analysis of credit markets, interest rates, rating agency considerations, bank capacity, and funding conditions to support capital allocation, financing, refinancing, and investment decisions.
  • Manage execution readiness and post-execution workstreams for CP and debt issuance, revolving credit facility support, liability management, rate locks, swaps, and related hedging activities.
  • Prepare transaction materials, scenario analysis, economics comparisons, and recommendations for senior Treasury leadership and executive review.
  • Own interest income and expense forecasting and variance analysis versus plan.
  • Manage bank relationship analytics, wallet analysis, internal scorecards, market intelligence, and concise executive-ready updates.
  • Own investment portfolio strategy and execution, including cash deployment, liquidity segmentation, maturity planning, yield analysis, and return evaluation.
  • Monitor portfolio exposures, ratings, duration, return, and counterparty concentration; escalate issues and recommend actions.
  • Lead cross-functional projects with Tax, Legal, Accounting, FP&A, Treasury Operations, business units, banks, auditors, and advisors.
  • Provide strategic analyses on capital return, investment alternatives, stress/scenario analysis, financing capacity, and liquidity optimization.
  • Drive process improvement, automation, controls, and scalable reporting across investments, capital markets, and related Treasury processes.
  • Coach analysts, rotational employees, and project contributors.
