About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead the field execution of projects across workplace, retail, hospitality, healthcare, lab and life sciences, mission critical, and education sectors. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a traveling position, can establish strong on-site leadership quickly, and are comfortable remaining on-site nationwide for the full duration of each project. This position is based out of our Chicago office; however, due to the extensive travel requirements, candidates are not required to reside in the Chicago area.

Requirements

  • 5-15+ years of experience as a Superintendent with ground up and interior renovation experience
  • Experience managing sitework, structural work, MEP coordination, finishes, punch and turnover
  • Proven ability to lead highly detailed, regulated corporate interior projects from planning through closeout
  • Strong professional communication skills with clients, design teams, trade partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated proactive problem-solving skills, including early identification of issues during preconstruction and open collaboration to resolve them
  • Comfortable representing the company in client presentations, interviews, and pursuit efforts

  • Lab, clean room, and mission critical experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Participate in kickoff meetings with PX & team to understand financial goals, relationships, etc.
  • Host field kickoff meeting with all trade partners & PMs
  • Manage day-to-day trade partner/vendor relationships
  • Manage relationship between site and building management/owner
  • Participate in closeout meeting and provide feedback on trade partners
  • Host trade partner gathering for closeout
  • Host weekly toolbox talk on site with all trade partners & document in Procore
  • Lead weekly on-site foreman meetings to review 3-week lookaheads, constraints, and critical path items
  • Establish and manage site setup, ensuring Redmond branding, safety signage, wayfinding, and PPE availability at all times
  • Oversee site logistics, material flow, and deliveries across active construction areas
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse team for site deliveries and train field staff on inventory systems when implemented
  • Manage, track, and complete punch lists through closeout
  • Manage field tickets and on-site change order documentation
  • Fully vet field claims in collaboration with the Project Manager and trade partners prior to ticket approval
  • Review construction documents & drawings and fully understand critical path items
  • Review superintendent binder on Procore, print at their discretion
  • Create schedule with PMs
  • Create 3-week lookaheads in Outbuild
  • Manage schedule and document schedule claims
  • Understand labor & GR allocation and track accordingly with PMs
  • Draft field RFIs and submit to PMs
  • Maintain on-site safety oversight with guidance and support from the Safety Director
  • Ensure safety training, documentation, and emergency/first-responder procedures are implemented and followed on-site
  • Manage and upload progress photos in Procore or Sway
  • Complete daily logs in Procore
  • Prepare and submit weekly field reports in Procore
  • Travel to project sites nationwide and remain on-site for the full duration of each project
  • Ability to mobilize quickly from the Chicago home base as project needs require
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and support junior field staff, contributing to overall team development and consistency across traveling projects
