About The Position

The Traveling Retail Cleaning Technician (Floater) provides cleaning and floor-care services at multiple retail store locations throughout Northern Illinois and Southeast Wisconsin, covering vacations, call-offs, leaves of absence, and other staffing needs. Based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the role requires travel between locations and reliable transportation. Hours and locations vary weekly according to store coverage needs; shifts may include nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Travel exceeding 30 minutes qualifies for paid drive time, and travel exceeding 25 miles qualifies for mileage reimbursement. The position pays $18.00 per hour, with weekly pay on Friday, and is described as a direct-hire role with opportunities for career growth. Under limited supervision, the technician completes assigned cleaning scopes at client locations, including hard-surface and carpet care, restroom and grout deep cleaning, and other store-area cleaning. The technician follows location task lists, company schedules, client expectations, and safety procedures; works with Carlson staff and store personnel; and represents the company respectfully to customers and the public. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment and supplies, reporting issues and injuries, and supporting continuous improvement. After training, the Lead technician assumes sole responsibility for applying floor wax; the Floater may also provide guidance to less-experienced technicians. The work is generally performed indoors in climate-controlled areas with little or no natural light, with exposure to cleaning products and wet surfaces. The job requires physical stamina for janitorial and floor-care tasks, including regularly lifting up to 45 pounds and pushing and pulling cleaning equipment. Employment is contingent on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens.
