About The Position

The Traveling Maintenance Support Manager will provide coverage and support to AIR Communities' multifamily housing properties. This role involves stepping in for absent Service and Maintenance Managers and offering managerial support during essential and time-sensitive hardships. The position serves as a subject matter expert in direct maintenance and service operations, vendor management, and staff mentoring. This is a heavily travel-oriented role, requiring up to 75% of the year (approximately 3 weeks per month) on the road or in the air.

Requirements

  • Expectation and ability to travel at least 75% of the time.
  • Easy access to a large airport.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Multifamily Service Operations Management.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a direct Service Management role.
  • Proven track record in managing large properties.
  • Must be a motivator, a good communicator, and a hands-on manager.
  • Must possess strong team-building, coaching, and training skills.
  • Multiple site supervision experience.
  • Excellent customer service background.
  • Strong financial results orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to enhance value at the community level.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong preference to be located within one of AIR's main markets: Denver, DC Metro, Miami Metro, Boston area, or Philadelphia area.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the acting Service Manager wherever and whenever assigned, providing the standard operational support required of AIR's Service Managers.
  • Provide regional oversight of all aspects of Property Maintenance Management for multiple communities as assigned, including service requests, management, the turn process, preventative maintenance, and staff training and supervision.
  • Support Regional Offices in managing the operations for assigned properties.
  • Assist Property Managers, Service Managers, Regional Property Managers, Area Service Managers, Directors of Service & Quality, and Directors of Operations in completing action plans resulting from audits.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on direct maintenance and service operations, vendor management, and mentoring.
