About The Position

This part-time position requires frequent travel to various locations to recruit study participants. The Field Interviewer will make in-person contact with selected respondents to discuss the study, answer questions, and obtain participation. Responsibilities include collecting confidential information, administering standardized questionnaires, managing administrative duties such as participating in conference calls and completing online trainings, and transmitting data as scheduled. The role also involves assuming responsibility for project-issued equipment, safeguarding participant incentives and project materials, tracking all participant incentives, and submitting timely and accurate Time & Expense reports. Additionally, the interviewer will attend virtual meetings, maintain communication with project staff, and attend debrief meetings to provide feedback for methodological improvements. The job requires standing, walking, climbing stairs, and transporting equipment weighing 15 pounds or more.

Requirements

  • Must have previously worked for RTI
  • Must possess High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening
  • Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking
  • Available for entire training and data collection period
  • Available to work each day while on travel assignment
  • Able to successfully complete training
  • Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal automobile available for business use
  • Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other associated equipment
  • Access to password-protected Wi-Fi connection for data transmissions and administrative responsibilities
  • Able to keep project information confidential
  • Willingness to work in various types of weather conditions and after dark
  • Comfortable working in unfamiliar areas

Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding any participant incentives, issued equipment, or project materials against damage, loss, or theft
  • Assuming responsibility for and carefully tracking all participant incentives
  • Submitting timely and accurate Time & Expense reports
  • Attend virtually scheduled meetings with other members of the project team
  • Maintaining adequate and timely communication with all project staff
  • Attending debrief meetings to provide feedback to help inform methodological improvements
