About The Position

The Traveling HVAC & Sheet Metal Journeyman installs, fabricates, and maintains HVAC systems and sheet metal components on large-scale commercial and industrial projects across multiple states. You’ll work with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, and other trades to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality installations.

Requirements

5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC and sheet metal experience
Strong experience with HVAC ductwork fabrication and installation
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Experience with HVAC equipment, piping, air handlers, chillers, boilers, and related systems
Strong measuring, layout, fabrication, and installation skills
Experience with system testing, start-up, and commissioning
HVAC Journeyman License where required by state or local regulations
EPA Section 608 certification where refrigerant handling is required
OSHA 10 certification required
Strong understanding of safety, quality, and jobsite procedures
Ability to work effectively with multiple trades and field teams
Ability and willingness to travel extensively

Responsibilities

Fabricate and install HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems
Install HVAC equipment and related mechanical components
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and specifications
Measure, lay out, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal components
Support equipment installation, start-up, testing, and commissioning
Troubleshoot installation and system issues
Ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes
Follow OSHA and company safety requirements, including PPE and confined-space procedures
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
Coordinate with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, and other trades
Maintain accurate installation, testing, and project documentation
Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and less-experienced team members
