Traveling Dining Services Manager
About The Position
Tutera Senior Living & Health Care is hiring a traveling dining services professional to provide interim leadership, operational support, and culinary expertise across senior living communities in an assigned region. Assignments may be short- or long-term and may involve stabilizing dining operations during leadership transitions, supporting new openings, implementing company dining standards, and improving resident satisfaction. The position involves 90–100% travel, including the possibility of unexpected travel, and follows a 10-days-on / 4-days-off rotational schedule. The role may serve as acting Dining Services Director or Dining Department Head. It combines hands-on operational leadership with staff training, food safety and regulatory compliance, resident-focused hospitality, and collaboration with community and regional leadership. At the end of each assignment, the manager provides handoff documentation and recommendations. Tutera Senior Living & Health Care is a family-owned company founded in 1985. Requirements
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or multi-unit food service.
- Proven experience leading dining services teams.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
- Culinary degree, hospitality management degree, or equivalent experience.
- ServSafe® or Always Food Safe certification, or ability to obtain certification.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- High emotional intelligence and adaptability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- General computer skills for communication and planning requirements.
- Knowledge of food safety procedures, cooking temperatures, kitchen and equipment sanitation, and food storage techniques and temperatures.
- Ability and willingness to travel, including unexpected travel as needed.
- Professional appearance and behavior.

Responsibilities
- Provide on-site dining services leadership during vacancies, leaves, or other periods of transition.
- Act as Dining Services Director or Dining Department Head when needed.
- Assess dining operations and implement immediate improvements to quality, service, and compliance.
- Ensure menus meet nutritional guidelines, resident preferences, and company standards.
- Support scratch cooking, food presentation, and consistency across communities.
- Model resident-focused hospitality and service delivery.
- Train and mentor dining services team members, including cooks, servers, and leadership staff.
- Support onboarding and development of newly hired Dining Services Directors or Dining Department Heads.
- Reinforce food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct food safety, sanitation, and documentation audits.
- Partner with community leadership on survey readiness and corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with Executive Directors, Regional Leaders, and Corporate Support teams.
- Provide handoff documentation and recommendations at the end of each assignment.
- Represent the organization’s dining philosophy.
- Travel to senior living communities in the assigned region, including unexpectedly as needed.
