About The Position

The Travel Technician is a deployable, high-proficiency FD&R resource dispatched on short notice to depots across the Moove network to close acute gaps in fleet readiness. The role exists to stabilize underperforming markets, surge collision and PM backlogs, support new-market launches, and transfer best-practice technique to local teams. Operating as a force multiplier — highly certified, mobile, and able to execute at full productivity from day one — the Travel Technician integrates into any depot’s operating rhythm with minimal ramp and raises the performance of the teams around them.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in automotive or aerospace maintenance with a focus on complex electronic systems.
  • Proven ability to flex between routine PM work and complex diagnostic escalation without ramp time — markets will not always need the same skill band.
  • Ability to perform authorized OEM warranty repairs on critical vehicle systems, including suspension and advanced electrical components such as power conversion units and high-voltage distribution assemblies.
  • Able to travel on short notice (24–72 hours) for 1–4 week assignments, including weeknight stays away from home base.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 75% of working time.
  • Valid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior multi-site or mobile technician experience — collision, OEM field service, or fleet rapid-response roles.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior technicians on the shop floor.
  • OEM-specific platform certification.
  • Additional high-voltage (HV) systems experience.
  • CAN and LIN network diagnostic experience.
  • ASE certification (e.g., A6, A7, A8, or L3).

Responsibilities

  • Deploy to assigned depots within 24–72 hours of activation, integrating into the local operating rhythm and reaching full Tech I–III productivity with minimal ramp time.
  • Stabilize underperforming markets and surge collision and PM backlogs to restore RO Capable performance against target.
  • Support new-market launches by standing up repair throughput from the first shift.
  • Execute advanced removal and replacement (R&R) of complex system components, including high-performance onboard compute units, Lidar, Radar, camera systems, and integrated sensing hardware.
  • Perform authorized OEM warranty repairs on critical vehicle systems, including suspension and advanced electrical components such as power conversion units and high-voltage distribution assemblies.
  • Flex seamlessly between routine PM work and complex diagnostic escalation without ramp time.
  • Coach local Tech I–III staff on diagnostic technique and safety discipline.
  • Reinforce standardized SOPs and best-practice methods across markets.
  • Maintain a strong safety record in unfamiliar depots, completing site-specific orientation on arrival.
  • Adhere to all LOTO / MSD / IMD / HVIL protocols and required PPE at every site.
  • Vendor & Partner Management
