The Travel Support Specialist II reports to the organization’s Division Chief and is responsible for coordinating and creating travel authorizations for all personnel within the division. This role involves managing travel arrangements, preparing authorizations in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations and the E2 Solutions system, and coordinating with travel agencies. The specialist also reviews authorizations for fund availability, acts as a liaison for transportation policy, and resolves issues related to travel expenditures. Additionally, this position assists in budget preparation, obtains passports, coordinates visa issuance with embassies, and secures necessary clearances for international travel. The role includes creating electronic country clearance requests, drafting and processing travel vouchers, and contributing to weekly activity reports. Responsibilities also extend to in-processing and out-processing new hires and departing employees, maintaining division filing systems and SharePoint sites, coordinating building and facilities maintenance, and supporting security protocols. The specialist will also back up entering time and attendance records and assisting with personnel actions. This role serves as a subject matter expert on travel policies and procedures.
