About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution. FirstChoice Registered Nurses fill short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system, including regional and nationwide opportunities. Nurses may work across hospital departments, locations, and regions, and experience a variety of practice settings. This assignment is at MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Center in Iowa, starts ASAP, lasts 13 weeks, and is scheduled for three 12-hour day shifts per week. The gross weekly rate is $2,484. The nurse applies professional nursing practice standards, acts appropriately within their license and scope of knowledge and experience, and remains accountable for delegation, decisions, and outcomes. The role involves collaboration, quality improvement, adaptability, and managing competing priorities while embracing new ideas and cultural differences.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice or employment.
At least two years of recent clinical experience for specialties including Surgical Services.
Maintain credentials required for the specialty area, such as ACLS or TNCC.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be obtained through the American Heart Association.
Willingness and qualification to float across hospital departments, locations, and/or regions.

Responsibilities

Float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions.
Apply the standard elements of professional practice: assessment, outcomes identification and solutions, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Practice independently and appropriately within licensure, scope of knowledge, and experience.
Retain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality and improvement practices and outcomes.
Take on new and additional responsibilities as needed.
Manage competing priorities while embracing new ideas and cultural differences.
