About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution, using registered nurses to fill short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system. The role is for the Main OR and offers nationwide and regional opportunities. FirstChoice nurses may travel within their local region or nationally and experience a variety of practice settings. The nurse must be qualified and willing to float throughout a hospital, multiple hospital locations, or regions. The role requires applying the standard elements of professional nursing practice, working independently within the scope of licensure and experience, remaining accountable for delegation and decisions, collaborating with stakeholders on quality improvement, adapting to new responsibilities and ideas, and managing competing priorities while embracing cultural differences.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Hold valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice or employment.
Have at least two years of recent clinical experience for Surgical Services and other specialties listed as remaining specialties; the posting specifies 18 months for Med Surg, Tele, and PCU.
Obtain and maintain credentials required for the specialty area, such as ACLS or TNCC.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be obtained through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Act independently and appropriately within the limits of licensure, knowledge, and experience in the practice area.
