About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization. The job profile provides an overview of responsibilities and may change; it is not an exhaustive list.

Requirements

• Associate degree required.
• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio, or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• BLS certification.
• BSN required by five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as applicable to the patient population or individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document patients’ responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Revise plans of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Carry out operational responsibilities.
• Delegate nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
• Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency when performing job duties.
