About The Position

Embark on a transformative journey as a Travel Registered Nurse in Stepdown, starting 03/23/2026. This role blends high‑level patient care with the opportunity to explore diverse hospital settings while making a tangible difference in patient recovery. As a Stepdown RN, you’ll manage transitions from acute to intermediate care, lead assessments, and coordinate care for patients with complex cardiac, respiratory, or post‑operative needs. Your expertise will guide families, inform treatment plans, and support teams through fast‑paced shifts. Beyond clinical impact, you’ll discover the appeal of New York and the Rome region—urban energy, historic towns, and outdoor beauty—alongside the chance to travel to other locations across the U.S. when assignments require it. The result is a career that advances your skills, expands your network, and nourishes your professional spirit. Locations include New York state sites and Rome, NY, with opportunities to work across additional U.S. locations. You’ll experience a spectrum of practice environments—from high‑acuity academic centers to community hospitals—each offering rich patient populations and multidisciplinary teams. In New York, you can find the pulse of a major city and the serenity of upstate scenery, with access to cultural events, dining, parks, and regional festivals. Rome, NY provides a close‑knit community atmosphere and easy access to outdoor recreation along the waterways and hills. The ability to rotate through multiple sites lets you broaden clinical exposure, sharpen stepdown competencies, and build a resilient, adaptable nursing portfolio. Travel assignments include housing support, and a dedicated travel team to smooth the transition. As a Stepdown RN, your responsibilities include continuous patient monitoring, telemetry interpretation, hemodynamic assessment, medication administration, and rapid escalation when patients deteriorate. You’ll manage post‑op and complex medical cases, support ventilator and device care as indicated, and coordinate discharge planning with families and rehab teams. You’ll apply evidence‑based protocols, mentor junior nurses and aides, and contribute to care‑team rounding and care coordination. This role is designed for growth: you can pursue additional certifications, take on charge nurse duties, or prepare for broader critical care opportunities. Compensation is competitive, with weekly pay ranging from $1,959 to $2,040, depending on assignment length and location. We offer a sign‑on bonus, housing assistance, and the chance to extend assignments if you choose to stay. You’ll have extensive support from a dedicated travel team and 24/7 assistance while you’re on assignment, including onboarding help and ongoing check‑ins to ensure smooth transitions between sites. Educational resources and reimbursement programs are available to help you maintain licensure and advance your specialty skills. At our core, we empower nursing professionals.
