About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital's 10K Stepdown Unit is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for a temporary full-time, 14-week assignment. This role will work on a beautiful, brand new 24-bed Medicine unit featuring new computers, charting stations with patient visualization, and blood pressure machines that integrate with EPIC for real-time documentation. The patient population includes cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and diverse wound care.

Requirements

  • Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in Nursing, or diploma in Nursing.
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification.
  • Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients in a Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit.
  • Manage a diverse patient population including cardiac, renal failure, sepsis, and wound care.
  • Utilize new technology for patient monitoring and documentation, including real-time documentation with EPIC.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
