Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit
About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital's 10K Stepdown Unit is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for a temporary full-time, 14-week assignment. This role is on the DAY Shift and offers a pay rate of $70.00/hr. The unit is a beautiful, brand new 24-bed Medicine unit equipped with new computers and charting stations. It features Real Time Documentation through blood pressure machines that integrate with EPIC. The patient population is diverse, including cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-Prep, and various wound care cases. The hospital itself is a 525-bed tertiary care facility, a Level 1 trauma center, and the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. It is recognized as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence and has a nationally ranked heart program.
Requirements
- Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required.
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ACLS certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification.
- Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in a Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit.
- Manage a diverse patient population including cardiac, renal failure, sepsis, and wound care.
- Utilize new technology for patient charting and documentation.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
