Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical Stroke Unit
About The Position
Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for their Cardiac Med/Surg Nursing floor. This is a 14-week temporary full-time assignment for a Medical/Surgical Stroke Unit. The unit is a 24-bed Medical/Surgical Cardiac Unit that cares for patients requiring telemetry monitoring. Patients on this unit are undergoing evaluation for their next steps in care, which may include cardiac catheterization, transfer to the heart hospital for surgery, or diagnostic tests like a stress test or echocardiogram. Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a 224-bed acute care facility and a Certified Primary Stroke Center, offering specialized services in heart and vascular care, urologic care, advanced diagnostics and surgery, a hospitalist program, and a busy emergency department. Requirements
- Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NIH stroke scale
- Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients on telemetry monitoring in a Medical/Surgical Cardiac Unit.
- Determine the next steps needed in patient care, which may include cardiac cath, transfer to the heart hospital for surgery, or diagnostic tests such as a stress test or echocardiogram.
