About The Position

Sentara Port Warwick Free Standing Emergency Department located in Newport News, Virginia is hiring a Traveler for a Temporary Full Time Registered Nurse, Day shift! This position offers a unique level of convenience and comprehensive care in the heart of Newport News. The campus features a 24-hour emergency department, primary care and specialty care, advanced imaging services, therapy services, and more. In the Emergency Department/Ambulatory, we have a family atmosphere amongst our team. We meet in a fast-paced environment with high energy and positivity. We treat patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric and we utilize ED Techs to assist with supportive duties. Teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS
PALS
NIH Stroke Scale
Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN ER experience

Responsibilities

Assessing/admitting patients
Rounding checks
Giving medications
Talking with family members
Being responsible for the overall care of your patients
