Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Intermediate Care Stepdown/Med-Surg
About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse for the Stepdown/Med-Surg Admissions/Discharge Unit. This is a 16-bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity and staffing. The patient population includes conditions such as DKA, Alcohol Withdrawal, COPD exacerbation, Sickle Cell crisis, CHF exacerbation, Renal Failure, Dehydration, and I&D. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively as part of a team to maintain and support nursing care standards. The role involves assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overall patient care responsibility. Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale
- 2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience
- Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
