About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse for the Stepdown/Med-Surg Admissions/Discharge Unit. This is a 16-bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity and staffing. The patient population includes conditions such as DKA, Alcohol Withdrawal, COPD exacerbation, Sickle Cell crisis, CHF exacerbation, Renal Failure, Dehydration, and I&D. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively to maintain and support nursing care standards, assess and admit patients, perform rounding checks, administer medications, communicate with family members, and be responsible for overall patient care. Requirements

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale
• 2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience
• Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
