About The Position

This travel assignment is for a Registered Nurse in an Adolescent Behavioral Health Inpatient unit in Rochester, NY. The contract is for 17 weeks, starting on 09/14/2026. The role involves providing direct nursing care, conducting assessments, and coordinating care within a psychiatric environment for adolescent patients with acute behavioral health needs. Requirements

Active New York RN license
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current licensure to practice in New York
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call and callback as needed

Telemetry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Conduct intake assessments with patients and families to gather case history and inform care planning
Plan and deliver nursing care for adolescent patients with acute behavioral health needs
Formulate nursing diagnoses and collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health team to design treatment plans
Administer psychotropic medications and monitor patient responses, noting adverse reactions
Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and manage behavioral safety for staff and patients
Document patient information in medical records, follow physician orders, and protect patient confidentiality
Complete needed administrative tasks, including progress notes and charting in the electronic system
