About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for an Adolescent Behavioral Health Inpatient unit in Rochester, New York. The assignment is for 17 weeks, with the nurse working 12-hour rotating shifts (Day/Evening/Night) and being available for weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed. The role involves providing direct patient care, administering medications, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining patient records in a hospital-based inpatient setting.

Requirements

Active New York registered nurse license (NY license required only)
BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
CPI Certification
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Ability to work in an inpatient behavioral health setting and to participate in rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by unit needs

Responsibilities

Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and families to gather case history.
Plan and provide nursing care for adolescent inpatients; perform nursing diagnoses and contribute to treatment planning.
Administer psychotropic and other medications; monitor for reactions and report concerns.
Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design and implement individualized treatment plans.
Maintain a safe, secure environment for patients and staff; manage safety protocols as needed.
Document all patient information in medical charts, follow physician orders, and maintain confidentiality; perform routine progress notes and administrative tasks.
