About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Radiation Therapist for an exciting Travel or Local job in Rochester, NY. This position involves administering prescribed radiation treatments accurately and safely, verifying treatment parameters, operating radiation therapy equipment, monitoring patients, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and adherence to safety protocols. The therapist will also support workflow across multiple Radiation Oncology locations as needed and ensure compliance with facility policies.

Requirements

  • Active New York State Radiologic Technologist Therapy License.
  • ARRT (T) Certification.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Radiation Therapy experience in an acute care or oncology setting.
  • Experience with External Beam Radiation Therapy.
  • IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy).
  • Tumor Localization.
  • CBCT, kV, and mV Imaging.
  • Radiation Dose Calculations.
  • Radiation Safety Procedures.
  • Experience with custom molds, custom shields, wedges, compensation filters, portal casting, and block cutting.
  • Experience with lift/transfer devices and isolation precautions.
  • Familiarity with Rapid Response/Code Team procedures.
  • EPIC EMR experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ethos or Varian Radiation Therapy Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed radiation treatments accurately and safely.
  • Verify treatment parameters and patient positioning prior to treatment delivery.
  • Operate radiation therapy equipment and imaging systems.
  • Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and quality assurance standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and oncology staff.
  • Provide compassionate care and education to oncology patients.
  • Support workflow across multiple Radiation Oncology locations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies and patient safety requirements.
