About The Position

The Washington State Investment Board (WSIB) is seeking a qualified candidate to join their Travel team as a Travel Program Specialist. This role requires a customer service-focused individual with a commitment to service, who is adept at finding solutions to challenging situations and forecasting client needs. The ideal candidate can adapt their approach, goals, and methods to achieve results in dynamic situations and listen attentively to clients to determine the best way to support them within the parameters of applicable rules, regulations, and policies. The position operates within a hybrid work environment, with approximately 60% of the time expected to be in the office. The WSIB is looking for a collaborative team member who demonstrates strong prioritization skills, can pivot with changing business needs, and independently advise clients. The environment values integrity, excellence, and a willingness to embrace and test new technologies to streamline work and best support clients.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience working in a customer service position
  • Demonstratable experience learning new systems and technologies
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to changing priorities

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience working in the travel industry
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstratable experience solving complex problems in a highly regulated environment

Responsibilities

  • Independently advise staff and other clients regarding the travel program.
  • Define needs and plan detailed itineraries for staff, Board members, and job seekers.
  • Research flight and accommodation information to ensure best value and compliance with rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Support traveling clients by providing relevant information, guidance, and materials for smooth travel execution.
  • Establish and maintain records and approvals for trips in accordance with agency practice for record retention purposes.
  • Track and monitor workflows and assist customers using applications and systems.
  • Prepare and maintain reports for travel related fiscal reconciliation.
