About The Position
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role for a Float Clinician I, serving as a Travel Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) in North Stockton, CA. New graduates are welcome. The role involves providing a full range of reproductive health services, including contraceptive methods, medication abortion, STI diagnosis and treatment, gender-affirming hormone therapy, and premenopausal/menopausal health services. The clinician will also act as a medical consultant, manage emergencies, participate in staff training, and contribute to health center productivity goals. Float Clinicians travel to other health centers and receive a higher base hourly wage, robust training, paid travel time, mileage reimbursement, and a float differential. Upon completion of training and a positive review, Float Clinician I employees are promoted to Float Clinician II.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), Women’s Health NP (WHNP), or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) program.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of California.
- Board Certification
- CPR/BLS certification (current or within 30 days of hire).
- Strong customer service mindset and ability to thrive in a team-based environment.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows-based systems)

Responsibilities
- Review and interpret the medical and social history of both male and female reproductive health patients.
- Perform appropriate medical screening procedures/exams for both male and female patients.
- Interpret laboratory data, order additional laboratory investigations when indicated and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Provide a full range of contraceptive methods, including self-administered options and injections.
- Perform medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions for both male and female patients.
- Provide medication abortion, as indicated.
- Prescribe and educate on emergency contraception.
- Diagnose and treat uncomplicated STIs and genitourinary conditions.
- Perform wart treatment and basic dermatological procedures.
- Provide gender-affirming hormone therapy and related care.
- Offer premenopausal and menopausal health services.
- Act as a medical consultant to clinic staff.
- Manage emergency situations in the health center.
- Participate in staff meetings relating to center management and provides staff training in current medical procedures which are relevant to reproductive health.
- Contribute to achieving health center productivity goals.
- Demonstrate PPMM customer service standards.
- Assist in other areas of center support work as required.
- Conduct and interpret medical histories for sexual and reproductive health visits.
- Perform pelvic and breast exams, Pap smears, and other screening procedures.
- Order and interprets laboratory tests; ensure timely follow-up.
- Manage urgent health situations that arise during clinic operations.
- Act as a clinical resource for medical assistants and support staff.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to clinic productivity and quality benchmarks.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
