Travel Medical Assistant - Statewide | Temp/Seasonal - Tennessee
About The Position
We’re hiring a Tennessee-based Medical Assistant to complete preventive-care visits while traveling throughout the state. This is a temporary/seasonal, non-exempt, W-2 position expected to last through January 2027, with a possibility of extension. The role involves traveling throughout Tennessee, and occasionally to nearby states, to provide in-home patient care, primarily supporting Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and other preventive-care activities. You will be responsible for taking vitals, completing screenings, performing approved point-of-care testing, and accurately documenting visits in the EMR/EHR, while adhering to all clinical, safety, HIPAA, and infection-control procedures.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
- Medical Assistant certificate, diploma, credential, or equivalent qualification
- Hands-on clinical Medical Assistant experience
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, current registration, and active auto insurance
- Comfort working independently in patients’ homes
- Ability to meet vaccination and TB/PPD onboarding requirements
- Ability to travel throughout Tennessee, complete overnight assignments, and occasionally travel to nearby states
Nice To Haves
- Medicare Annual Wellness Visit or preventive-care experience
- Home-visit, mobile-care, field-based, or community health experience
- Experience with A1Cs, UAs, specimen collection, or similar point-of-care testing
Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled in-home member visits
- Support Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and other preventive-care activities
- Take vitals, complete screenings, and perform approved point-of-care testing such as A1Cs and UAs
- Document visits accurately in the EMR/EHR
- Follow clinical, safety, HIPAA, and infection-control procedures
Benefits
- Mileage is reimbursed at $0.725 per mile between eligible patient visits
- Travel time is paid
- Eligible extended travel expenses are covered, including transportation, rental car when needed, hotel, and meals
