About The Position

The Travel Licensed Practical Nurse delivers nursing care for patients across their life span through certain aspects of the nursing process, including data collection, implementing the plan of care as directed, and observing, reporting, and documenting the effects of care. Travel assignments are across campuses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey; campus and shift vary. Assignments are 13 weeks and require 36–40 hours per week. St. Luke’s travel staff are employees and are offered medical, vision, and dental benefits, as well as retirement options.

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, based on assignment location.
• At least one year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• At least one year of nursing experience in a skilled nursing setting.
• BLS certification.
• Successful completion of an individualized orientation program.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an accurate database for each assigned patient.
• Observe and report general and specific changes in patients’ physical and psychological health status.
• Implement and document patient care interventions and their effectiveness in accordance with the care plan and established policies and procedures.
• Administer medications within scope of practice.
• Serve as a role model and resource person, providing guidance to coworkers.
• Maintain personal development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs.
• Participate in identifying unit needs and support unit goals and objectives that contribute to departmental growth.
