Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) provide direct care to an assigned group of patients in accordance with Northside Hospital’s philosophy, policies, and procedures. They participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, and work under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an assigned clinical area. LPNs collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve patients’ function and protect their health and safety. LPNs participate in Northside Hospital’s Licensed Practical Nurse – Nursing Excellence Track Program (L-NEXT), which offers career advancement opportunities through expanding knowledge and expertise via academic and continuing education and specialty certification.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia.
- Hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience as an LPN.
- Additional life support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications may be preferred in specific units.
- Visual color acuity may be required depending on the role in specific units.
Responsibilities
- Render direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in accordance with hospital philosophy, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an assigned clinical area.
