  • Proficiency using and interpreting data from OTDRs, OLTS, power meters, visual inspection scopes, and fiber identifiers.
  • Ability to analyze OTDR traces, including event tables, loss readings, and reflectance levels, to verify link integrity and identify anomalies.
  • Familiarity with LC, SC, MPO, and MTP connector types and fiber protection systems such as heat-shrink, mechanical sleeves, and splice trays.
  • In-depth understanding of ITU-T G.652/G.657, FOA, BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC, and relevant client-specific standards.
  • Experience developing or enforcing QA/QC checklists, acceptance criteria, and audit methodologies.
  • Experience reviewing and validating as-built documentation, test certificates, and optical budgets.
  • Ability to conduct objective quality evaluations and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills, including interpreting technical data, detecting patterns, and identifying root causes.
  • Proficiency in producing clear, data-driven audit and performance reports and documenting actionable findings accurately.
  • Ability to communicate technical quality findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to precision.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with field technicians, engineers, and project managers.
  • Ability to challenge non-compliance diplomatically and professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple audits and reporting cycles.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently across multiple sites.
  • Experience with digital QA/QC reporting platforms, fiber management databases, and document control systems.

  • Background in project coordination or technical supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc audits of fusion and mechanical fiber optic splicing for compliance with design specifications, workmanship standards, and safety requirements.
  • Inspect fiber preparation, stripping, cleaving, cleaning, termination, and enclosure assembly.
  • Review splice trays, closures, and patch panels for correct routing, bend radius, labeling, and protection.
  • Audit mass fusion (ribbon) splicing and high-count cable work.
  • Verify and interpret OTDR, OLTS, and power meter test results.
  • Conduct onsite inspections across data centers, OSP/ISP sites, and field projects to assess workmanship, compliance, and safety.
  • Identify non-conformances, deviations, and workmanship deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain QA/QC records, including site checklists, test-result verifications, and photographic evidence.
