About The Position

This is a 26-week contract position for a Travel Dietitian in Bronx, NY. The role involves conducting nutrition assessments, developing care plans, providing medical nutrition therapy, and educating patients and families. The dietitian will collaborate with a healthcare team, document patient progress, and ensure compliance with standards. Responsibilities also include menu planning, quality improvement, and supporting dietary staff. The position requires staying current with nutrition guidelines and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship Program.
  • Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and patient-centered approach to care.

Nice To Haves

  • New York State licensure preferred.
  • Experience in acute care, long-term care, rehabilitation, or clinical nutrition settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments for patients.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nutrition care plans.
  • Provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy for a variety of clinical conditions.
  • Monitor patients' nutritional status, food intake, tolerance, and adherence to prescribed diets.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on nutrition principles, therapeutic diets, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Document assessments, interventions, care plans, and progress notes according to facility and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care conferences.
  • Assist with menu planning and therapeutic diet modifications.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and nutrition-related policy development.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to dietary staff regarding nutrition care practices.
  • Stay current with evidence-based nutrition guidelines and best practices.
