About The Position

The Orthopaedic Department at Hennepin Healthcare seeks a fellowship-trained traumaplasty surgeon to join their group. New graduates and mid-career arthroplasty and trauma surgeons are welcome to apply. The practice emphasizes close collaboration among department surgeons regarding patient care and teaching. The role involves providing specialized care to a diverse population within a highly collegial group. Call will be approximately 1:8 general orthopaedic level 1 adult and pediatric trauma call, including damage control hand trauma and infections. The center does not perform digit replants/revascularization, and all spine care is managed by Neurosurgeons. There is an opportunity to pass non-subspecialty cases to partners as circumstances permit.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Current (or eligible for) license to practice as a physician in the State of Minnesota
• Board certified/board eligible
• Successful completion of an ACGME, AOA, or RCPSC accredited Orthopaedic Surgery residency
• Successful completion of an ACGME, AOA, or RCPSC accredited Traumaplasty, Arthroplasty, or Trauma fellowship
• Competence in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty
• Competence in arthroplasty for fracture
• Competence in management of prosthetic joint infection
• Wide competence in general orthopaedic trauma
• Temporizing hand-call skills

• Interest in systems improvement, education, or research is desirable

Responsibilities
