About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is hiring Trauma Surgeons in Tucson, Arizona, to provide wound care and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities and other post-acute settings. The position offers full-time or part-time schedules and is presented as a no-call alternative to hospital-based trauma surgery. Physicians evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds, perform surgical debridement and bedside procedures, use advanced dressings and wound protocols, and follow patients through healing. Wound care experience is not required; comprehensive training is provided. Compensation is described as per-patient and per-procedure pay with quarterly bonus programs. The posting gives multiple compensation figures: a title-area range of $250,000–$500,000 per year for full-time roles, average annual earnings of $200,000–$250,000 with no earning cap as an independent contractor, and $300,000+ for top performers through performance bonuses. Candidates are asked to complete confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
• DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Candidates from Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and other surgical backgrounds are welcome; Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians are also welcomed.
• No previous wound care experience is required; comprehensive wound care training is provided.
• Completion of confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and appropriate relevant skills testing prior to hiring.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
• Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds, including pressure injuries and post-surgical wounds.
• Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
• Collaborate in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings, following patients through healing.
• Lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the Tucson area.
