About The Position

Skilled Wound Care, a premier national physician group, is hiring Trauma Surgeons in Washington, D.C. to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This role offers a high-impact career without the corporate red tape, providing an alternative to the demanding lifestyle of traditional trauma surgery. The position allows surgeons to utilize their expertise in wound care, keep their surgical skills through bedside procedures, and enjoy a healthier pace with predictable days. Surgeons will follow patients through healing, build lasting relationships, and have clinical autonomy. A custom software is provided to reduce administrative time.

Requirements

• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
• DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
• Open Background: We welcome Trauma and Acute Care Surgeons and surgeons of all backgrounds, as well as Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians.
• No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training

Responsibilities

• Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
• Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds, including pressure injuries and post-surgical wounds
• Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
• Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
