About The Position

Skilled Wound Care, a premier national physician group, is hiring Trauma Surgeons in Los Angeles, CA to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This role offers a refreshing alternative to the traditional trauma surgery lifestyle, providing a "no-call" Monday-Friday schedule, predictable days, and the opportunity to utilize surgical skills in wound care. The position emphasizes clinical autonomy, a healthier pace, and a focus on patient healing and relationship building. A custom software is utilized to reduce administrative time.

Requirements

• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
• DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
• Trauma and Acute Care Surgeons, Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians are welcome.
• No previous wound care experience is required; comprehensive wound care training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
• Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds, including pressure injuries and post-surgical wounds
• Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
• Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
