About The Position

Surgical Affiliates Management Group, Inc. (SAMGI) is seeking Trauma & Acute Care Surgeons to join the surgical team at Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX. This position offers the opportunity to practice within a 495-bed Level II Trauma Center with established volume, defined coverage expectations, and a collaborative care model supported by experienced APPs.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
  • Eligible for Texas medical licensure

Nice To Haves

  • Trauma / Surgical Critical Care fellowship preferred
  • Experience in trauma or high-acuity surgical environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide operative and non-operative Trauma and ACS services
  • ICU care for our most critically injured and ill patients
  • Lead trauma activations and manage emergency surgical cases
  • Participate in ACS service and inpatient consults
  • Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in quality initiatives and maintain timely documentation
