About The Position

The Trauma Registrar completes concurrent and retrospective trauma registry data for a busy Level I trauma center and supports data abstraction for four Level IV trauma centers. This is an on-site position, with the option to work remotely in the future. The role maintains the Conemaugh trauma registry in accordance with Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF) Standards for Trauma Center Accreditation and submits data within six weeks of discharge. The Registrar also supports reporting, queries, committees, meetings, surveys, and communication with outside agencies.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Medical Terminology course.
• Two years of experience in a medical setting.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete trauma registry data concurrently and retrospectively.
• Assign E-Codes, AIS, and ISS to individual trauma patients.
• Maintain the Conemaugh trauma registry in accordance with PTSF Standards for Trauma Center Accreditation and submit data within six weeks of discharge.
• Ensure accurate submission of occurrences as defined by PTSF.
• Participate in committees and trauma meetings.
• Maintain educational requirements defined by PTSF Standards of Accreditation.
• Participate in site survey activities as assigned.
• Interface with outside agencies.
• Abstract information from the collector for monthly reports as requested.
• Prepare queries for surgical residents and trauma staff when requested.
