In this position you will be working heavily in Microsoft Excel and with substantial amounts of confidential data. You will also need to be comfortable working independently or in a team setting where collaboration is key. The Trauma Quality Specialist will maintain the efficient operation of the trauma PIPS process (performance improvement and patient safety). The Trauma Quality Specialist works in collaboration with the trauma team and program leadership and is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the trauma PI program. The goal is to improve the quality of trauma care encompassing all areas and disciplines of the hospital that participate in the management of the injured patient throughout their entire stay. In this position the Quality Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating performance improvement activities including data collection, analysis, trending, and benchmarking of data outcomes at the local, regional, state, and national levels. Your attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving skills are highly needed in this position. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing with at least five years of clinical experience in a high patient acuity area in any combination of ED/Trauma/Surgical-Trauma ICU. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, physicians, patients, and other business partners. This position is full time with a flexible “work your way” schedule (for example five 8 hours shifts or four 10 hours shifts). POSITION SUMMARY This position plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates facility and/or system-wide quality/performance improvements, patient safety programs, and/or coordinates compliance and regulatory programs for preparedness and accreditation requirements.
