About The Position

Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients. Requirements

Associate's Degree in Nursing
Three (3) years recent hospital experience
One (1) year in a critical care area (ICU or Emergency Department)
RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
TNCC upon hire or within six (6) months of hire/transfer

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Membership to a related professional organization (Society of Trauma Nurses, Emergency Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the trauma program manager to perform key elements of the trauma program, including evaluation of patient care, clinical and operational performance improvement activities, and development of evidence-based guidelines.
Contribute to regulatory compliance and optimal patient outcomes by refining evidence-based guidelines, implementing performance improvement activities, and providing trauma education to support comprehensive trauma care initiatives.
Collaborate with the trauma program manager to develop and execute performance improvement processes that support optimal outcomes for trauma patients.
Perform concurrent process improvement and evaluation of trauma care throughout the continuum, from prehospital, emergency room, operative, inpatient, and discharge.
Assess compliance with trauma protocols and guidelines by observation and chart review.
Review trauma team activations and assess for appropriateness based on established criteria.
Track findings within the trauma process improvement program and document loop closure of any findings.
Monitor patient progress through the continuum of care for ongoing identification of potential care issues and facilitate timely resolution through communication and collaboration with the care team.
