Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Three (3) years recent hospital experience
  • One (1) year in a critical care area (ICU or Emergency Department)
  • RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
  • TNCC upon hire or within six (6) months of hire/transfer

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Membership to a related professional organization (Society of Trauma Nurses, Emergency Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the trauma program manager to perform key elements of the trauma program, including evaluation of patient care, clinical and operational performance improvement activities, and development of evidence-based guidelines.
  • Contribute to regulatory compliance and optimal patient outcomes by refining evidence-based guidelines, implementing performance improvement activities, and providing trauma education to support comprehensive trauma care initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the trauma program manager to develop and execute performance improvement processes that support optimal outcomes for trauma patients.
  • Perform concurrent process improvement and evaluation of trauma care throughout the continuum, from prehospital, emergency room, operative, inpatient, and discharge.
  • Assess compliance with trauma protocols and guidelines by observation and chart review.
  • Review trauma team activations and assess for appropriateness based on established criteria.
  • Track findings within the trauma process improvement program and document loop closure of any findings.
  • Monitor patient progress through the continuum of care for ongoing identification of potential care issues and facilitate timely resolution through communication and collaboration with the care team.
