Get to Know Your Team: Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Requirements

  • Education required to obtain Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Current RN license in the state of Texas.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) Certification.
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or ATCN (Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses) Certification.
  • CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse), TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse), or equivalent certification required within 1 year of hire.
  • TOPIC (Trauma Outcomes & Performance Improvement Course) or TCCC (Trauma Coordinators Core Course) required within 1 year of hire.
  • 3+ years of clinical nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
  • ATS (American Trauma Society) membership.
  • Familiarity with data abstraction for accreditation programs and national databases.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and trauma data abstraction tools.
  • Previous experience in trauma program.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of the trauma program, ensuring quality care for trauma patients, and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinating trauma services.
  • Collecting and submitting data.
  • Ensuring compliance with trauma center standards.
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives.
  • Providing education to staff.
  • Assisting with trauma center verification.
  • Ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
