Get to Know Your Team: Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.
Requirements
- Education required to obtain Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Current RN license in the state of Texas.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) Certification.
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or ATCN (Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses) Certification.
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse), TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse), or equivalent certification required within 1 year of hire.
- TOPIC (Trauma Outcomes & Performance Improvement Course) or TCCC (Trauma Coordinators Core Course) required within 1 year of hire.
- 3+ years of clinical nursing experience.
Nice To Haves
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- ATS (American Trauma Society) membership.
- Familiarity with data abstraction for accreditation programs and national databases.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and trauma data abstraction tools.
- Previous experience in trauma program.
Responsibilities
- Coordination of the trauma program, ensuring quality care for trauma patients, and meeting regulatory requirements.
- Coordinating trauma services.
- Collecting and submitting data.
- Ensuring compliance with trauma center standards.
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives.
- Providing education to staff.
- Assisting with trauma center verification.
- Ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
