About The Position

SAMGI is seeking a full-time Trauma & Acute Care Surgeon to join our established surgical team at The Hospitals of Providence East Campus, a Level II Trauma Center serving the greater El Paso region. This position offers a rewarding acute care surgery career with a balanced mix of trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care. Surgeons work alongside experienced partners, dedicated Advanced Practice Providers, and hospital leadership committed to program improvements and operational stability. Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Active Texas medical license or IMLC
• Current or recent experience at a Level I or Level II Trauma Center required
• Surgical Critical Care fellowship training or certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma and emergency general surgery coverage
• Evaluate and manage critically injured and acute surgical patients
• Perform operative trauma and emergency surgical procedures
• Collaborate closely with team surgeons, APPs, and consultants
• Participate in trauma quality improvement and program initiatives
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
