About The Position

The Department of Acute Care Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking an additional BC/BE surgeon for a full-time faculty position with training and interest in General and Acute Care Surgery. Qualified candidates will have completed fellowship training in surgical critical care or acute care surgery and must possess an interest in providing elective surgical care to complex patients in support of the group’s rapidly growing elective surgical practice. The Acute Care Surgery service includes weekly rotations through complex elective general surgery clinic, emergency general surgery, surgical critical care and manages a high volume of severely injured patients at a high performing Level 1 Trauma Center. We see a broad spectrum of blunt and penetrating trauma. Strong APP support. Collaborative culture with mentorship. Equitable, positive work environment with time for family and personal interests.

Requirements

• BC/BE surgeon
• Completed fellowship training in surgical critical care or acute care surgery
• Excellent clinical skills
• Strong interest in supporting the academic missions of the Department through education, research, and/or outreach.

Responsibilities

• Provide elective surgical care to complex patients.
