About The Position

This position is for an Auxiliary/Transportation role with an evening shift. The job is available for the 2026-2027 School Year and the closing date for applications is August 11, 2026, at 12 NOON. The salary range is $13.80 - $16.09 per hour, and the position works 238 days per year.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid Texas commercial driver's license (Class A or B), with P & S Endorsements or must obtain within 90 days of date of hire
• Basic knowledge of diesel and gasoline vehicles.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the school bus/van
• Must have acceptable driving record
• Must be physically fit to perform the require job functions
• Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language
• Copy of High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Copy of driver's license
• Current resume

Nice To Haves

• Preferred: Valid Texas commercial driver's license (Class A or B), with P & S Endorsements

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repairs.
• Lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts.
• Meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening.
• Attend safety meetings and in-service meetings.
• Deal with students, parents, and all school district personnel.
• Lift and assist students when necessary.
• Maintain effective pupil behavior management over groups of children.
• Follow verbal instructions.
• Practice defensive driving at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidents by practicing safety driving and work habits.
