Requirements

• One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Submission of criminal history reports will be required for a conditional offer of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of probationary period.
• Must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania to telework.
• If unable to telework, option to report to the headquarters office in Montoursville.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check roadway plans, construction drawings, and right-of-way layouts using CADD software
• Complete detailed drafting work from preliminary sketches through final design plans
• Assist engineers by setting alignments, performing calculations, and developing drainage or grade layouts
• Apply survey notes, field data, and aerial photographs to support plan development
• Conduct field investigations to observe terrain, drainage, and physical site conditions
