Requirements

• One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

• Observe routine phases of highway construction and check grades, elevations, and stakeout work
• Examine materials and testing results to confirm consistency with contract requirements
• Inspect work zone signs and devices to ensure proper placement and maintenance
• Maintain reports, sketches, diaries, and digital records related to construction activities
• Support plant operations, material testing, and enforcement of contract specifications
• Explain department requirements and testing procedures to contractors during project work
