JMT is recognized as a Top 500 Design Firm, ranking #45 on Engineering News-Record's list. The Construction Management Team at JMT is looking to hire a Transportation Technician III. This role will serve as a lead inspector, overseeing transportation construction projects. Opportunities are available statewide. Please note that JMT does not offer immigration sponsorship or support (such as H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) for this position, with the exception of candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's drug screening process, thereafter subject to random and for cause drug and alcohol testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of contractor’s operations on a variety of transportation projects including roadway and bridge construction to verify conformance to plans and specifications
- Supervise and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout construction of the project
- Measure and track quantities of pay items
- Gather and maintain record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector’s daily diaries
- Interact with the public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries and resolve field issues
- Perform other related duties as assigned
