The Construction Management Team at JMT is looking for a Transportation Technician III to serve as a lead inspector for transportation construction projects in North Carolina. Opportunities are available statewide. Please note that immigration sponsorship or support (e.g., H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not provided for this role, with the exception of candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. This position is open in various locations within North Carolina, and specific details can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview process.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of contractor’s operations on a variety of transportation projects including roadway and bridge construction to verify conformance to plans and specifications
- Supervise and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout construction of the project
- Measure and track quantities of pay items
- Gather and maintain record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector’s daily diaries
- Interact with the public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries and resolve field issues
- Perform other related duties as assigned
