About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned consulting firm with more than 2,800 professionals, is seeking a Transportation Technician III for its Construction Management Team. The role is a lead inspector position responsible for supervising transportation construction projects in North Carolina. Statewide opportunities are available, and the position may be based in multiple locations within North Carolina, to be discussed with the hiring manager during an interview. Immigration sponsorship or support is unavailable except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractor operations on roadway, bridge, and other transportation projects to verify compliance with plans and specifications.
• Supervise and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout project construction.
• Measure and track quantities of pay items.
• Gather and maintain project records, including material certifications, testing reports, and inspectors’ daily diaries.
• Interact with the public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and internal and external parties to respond to inquiries and resolve field issues.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
