This role is responsible for supporting and executing strategic safety initiatives and objectives, promoting a culture where safety is a core organizational value, and ensuring compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and applicable regulations. The position involves overseeing driver qualification files, MVR reviews, and regulatory documentation, leading investigations involving vehicle accidents, injuries, and safety incidents, and managing safety audits, corrective actions, and performance reporting. The role also includes monitoring fleet safety performance and driver accountability programs, partnering with Recruiting to establish hiring standards aligned with safety goals, and evaluating MVRs, PSP reports, licensing, certifications, and safety-related qualifications. Additionally, the position assists in evaluating applicants with safety concerns, supports pre-employment screening and onboarding, ensures compliance with DOT driver qualification requirements, and manages the company ELD and telematics programs for Hours of Service compliance. The role requires monitoring and analyzing telematics data and ensuring effective utilization of safety technologies, developing reporting dashboards to monitor fleet safety performance and identify trends.
