About The Position

The incumbent is responsible for managing activities related to the company’s transportation programs in compliance with DOT regulations specific to the environmental waste industry. Develops and implements strategies to achieve and exceed company goals and expectations to reduce vehicle compliance violations. Acts as an advisor to internal customers.

Requirements

Knowledge of regulations specific to the transportation regulations relevant to the environmental waste industry, management principles and best practices.
Knowledge and understanding of current transportation practices, DOT regulations and programs.
Analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
Must be detail oriented and possess technical aptitude.
Ability to work under pressure, exercise independent judgment and select effective course of action while controlling resources and expenditures.
Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications is essential.
Knowledge of transportation compliance typically gained through 2 more years of progressively responsible experience.

Responsibilities

Maintains compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations, company and local policies and procedures and required documentation.
Provides instruction and training for new and current employees.
Maintains training and driver files to ensure compliance with federal and state rules and regulations and company policies.
Validates driver qualifications.
Tracks status and expiration of transportation related permits.
Works with State regulatory agencies to renew permits and other DOT authorizations.
Investigates, reports, maintains, and cooperates with insurance adjustors regarding injury & collision claims.
