About The Position
This role involves reviewing oversize/overweight permits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations. The specialist will also review routes for safe travel and provide customer support to commercial carriers regarding their permits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate degree + 2 years of relevant experience OR High school diploma + 4 years of relevant experience.
- Customer service experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Motor carrier permit/registration experience preferred.
- Experience with transportation/logistics, freight movement, or heavy-haul permitting is a plus.
- Analytical experience involving regulatory compliance preferred.
- Data/system experience and permit management/routing software experience preferred.
- GIS experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Review oversize/overweight permits for accuracy, completeness, routes, and restrictions.
- Ensure permits comply with applicable state and federal rules and regulations.
- Review routes to support safe travel throughout the state.
